KACPER DĄBROWSKI

Kacper Dąbrowski is a Polish flutist, researcher, and interdisciplinary music practitioner whose work bridges performance, historical practice, and contemporary creation within an international context.Educated in Poland and Germany, he studied flute performance at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice under Dr. Łukasz Zimnik, and continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg with Prof. Dr. Mario Caroli, graduating in 2021. His artistic development has been shaped by collaborations with leading pedagogues, including Dr. hab. Agata Igras. Currently, he is a doctoral researcher at the European Doctoral College (a joint program of Hochschule für Musik Freiburg, Haute école des arts du Rhin, and the University of Strasbourg), working under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Ludwig Holtmeier and Prof. Silvia Careddu and Prof. Mario Caroli.Since 2024, he has been principal flutist of the Pilsen Philharmonic. Previously, he served as principal flutist of the Wojciech Kilar Polish Philharmonic “Sinfonia Baltica” (2018–2019), and in 2022 he was appointed solo flutist of the Korean National Symphony Orchestra Academy in Seoul.Kacper’s artistic profile reflects a strong commitment to versatility and transnational collaboration. He has performed with a wide range of ensembles and orchestras, including the Freiburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Meininger Hofkapelle, Santander Orchestra, National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia, Sinfonietta Cracovia, and the Polish Chamber Philharmonic.A significant aspect of his work focuses on historically informed performance as a living, evolving practice. He is co-founder of the INSOMMA ensemble, through which he explores new approaches to early music, combining research with experimental performance formats. This approach culminated in the ensemble’s debut album “BACH – INSOMMA” (2020), offering a fresh perspective on canonical repertoire.Alongside his performance career, he actively contributes to shaping new models of music education. He is the director of the Polish flute education platform Fl@owisko, an initiative dedicated to supporting young flutists through innovative, accessible, and A laureate of numerous international competitions (including prizes in Slovenia, Poland, and France, as well as distinctions in the Netherlands, Romania, and China/Switzerland), he represents a new generation of artists navigating fluidly between roles: performer, researcher, curator, and communicator.His work is driven by a broader curiosity about culture, mobility, and exchange. Through international projects and tours, he connects music-making with exploration - geographical, historical, and aesthetic - redefining the role of the classical musician in a global and interdisciplinary environment.
